Our 2023 year-end appeal was a great success! Thank you donors!

With Giving Tuesday in November, and our year-end appeal through the end of the year, we raised $38,304 which includes matching funds contributed by the Board of Directors.

Together you helped us exceed our goal of $25,000 by over 50%! Funds will go toward new exhibits at our temporary museum space in Emeryville and continuing our Mobile Museum tour.

Equally exciting, year-end grants from local businesses and corporate matching gifts raised an additional $39,600!

We’re particularly grateful for those individual donors who make a monthly donation — large and small — to Habitot. Your recurring donations really add up and give us predictable income for program expenses. Thank you all for making sure Habitot is:

remaining affordable for all! Your support keeps admission on a sliding scale from $1 – $40 per family. About 40% of the families who attended our pop-ups needed help affording this enriching experience, and paid between $1 – $9. Every child belongs at Habitot!
continuing to reach the whole East Bay, introducing hundreds of new families to Habitot, including communities whose families seldom, or never, attend museums.
expanding opportunities for learning through play by adding dramatic play and new maker activities! More exhibits means more play for more families.

Gifts large and small make a difference

Small gifts from $10 to 100 really add up… no gift is too small and every gift is appreciated!

• Your gift of $100 will cover the cost of admission to our Space Station Experience indoor location for eight low-income children.

• Your gift of $75 will purchase a month’s worth of rocket launcher supplies.

• Your gift of $50 will buy a Habitot-curated STEM and Art kit for a low-income family. Kits include both reusable materials and lots of consumable supplies for multiple activities/children

• Your $40 gift will buy another astronaut helmet with visor or another adult-sized astronaut suit

• Your $35 gift will support transportation expenses for UC-Berkeley financial aid students to facilitate activities at a Mobile Museum event.

• Your $25 gift will buy one day’s worth of art and maker supplies for dozens of families visiting our Art Studio and Imagination Station maker space at Bay Street, Emeryville.

• Your $10 gift will buy two new or replacement trains for our Space Station Train Table.
