2024 GRANTS MANAGER Part-time
Drive the vehicle and supervise road crew in setting up and breaking down Habitot’s MobileMuseum events. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. MobileMuseum Event Road Crew Supervisor
ON-CALL POSITION
Unload and set up Habitot’s exhibits and activity stations at each MobileMuseum event. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Habitot partners with the UC-Berkeley work-study program, giving financial aid students opportunities for building job skills, work experience, and community service. The available 2023-24 workstudy jobs are:
• Part-time/on call weekday and weekend Front Desk Receptionist: Tasks include opening and closing the museum Bay Street Emeryville, activating all exhibits and creativity stations, greeting drop-in visitors and ticketed audience at entry, handling payments for walk-in visitors, supporting art and facilitator staff as needed, and managing customer relations.
• On call Early Childhood Art Studio Assistant at our Bay Street Emeryville museum, half-day shifts, weekdays and weekends working with young children and families with art-making activities.
• Exhibit Play Facilitator supporting children’s play and learning at Mobile Museum events in community parks on weekends. Transportation expense to locations reimbursed.
• On call Road Crew supporting our Mobile Museum Team helping load, unload, and set up/break down the exhibits and activities for pop-up community events. Early mornings/late afternoons on weekends. Transportation expense to locations reimbursed.

Interns are placed year-round in:
Internships are 100 hours, have flexible scheduling, and generally take place over 3 months’ time. Winter Term and one-month internships are possible.
We train interns in best practices, give practical work experience and expect interns to take responsibility for portions of ongoing projects.
Interns must be graduates of 2- or 4-year colleges, or be currently enrolled in college, or high school. Interns receive a $300 stipend upon successful completion of an internship.

Habitot Children’s Museum is the East Bay’s hands-on discovery museum designed specifically for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Annually since 1998, Habitot’s museum has been serving an estimated 55,000 children primarily from Alameda and Contra Costa counties, and drawing from the entire region. Since the pandemic, Habitot has pivoted to providing virtual and in-person mobile events. A mission-driven nonprofit, Habitot strives to nurture and enrich the lives of young children, their families, and the adults who care for them by providing an environment for early childhood learning and exploration, parenting education, and community outreach.
