Little Town is Here!

The Museum is currently open Fridays through Mondays, 10-5.

In Little Town, kids can grab their firefighter suits in Firehouse No. 3, drive the fire engine, put out fires in the “burning house,” and crawl through the tunnel underneath to learn about going low in a smoke-filled house.

We were walking to lunch when our toddler spied the red fire engine inside Habitot on Bay Street Emeryville, and refused to leave. Literally we bought a ticket on Eventbrite on the spot because he loves children’s museums – tot registers with tot-sized grocery carts, fire trucks with hoses and tot-sized fire fighting outfits. There’s also build-your-own-pizza station, wiggle wall, rocket launcher, plenty of crafts, and infant zone. Delighted with the option to buy 5 visits for $75 (saves you $5 a trip, now tickets are $20/kid and worth half a day of entertainment.

There’s even more play and learning in our Art Studio, our Imagination Station for more maker projects, and our expanded Infant Toddler area.

We’re grateful to CenterCal Properties for making our temporary space available and to annual donors who made the funds available to refresh the museum with new exhibits!

Pay at the door or get advance tickets on Eventbrite. Habitot participates in the national Museums for All program, a voluntary, unfunded access program for high need audiences. Families holding EBT/SNAP cards with photo ID are admitted for $3 per eligible child.

Sensory Play Mondays 10:30-11:30a

Hands-on sensory exploration experiences just right for 2’s and under, every Monday.
FREE with admission, space limited.

Grocery Store

Stock the Grocery Store — select fruits, vegetables, breads, and seafood, fill your tot-sized shopping carts, and check out at the register, or be the cashier at the register taking payments and giving change — you’re the owner of your very own Grocery Store!

Pizzeria

Build your own pizza in the Pizzeria and place it in the glowing oven to bake! Don’t forget to put on your chef outfit!

Infant Toddler Garden

Our fenced and carpeted Infant Toddler Garden welcomes babies, crawlers, and early walkers (shoes off!) for soft play, baby ball pit, felt story wall, mirrors, read-aloud books, blocks and toys, and of course, a tunnel! Look for music and movement classes coming soon.

Art Studio

We’ve re-created our popular Art Studio from our Berkeley location that thousands of children enjoyed over the past twenty+ years.

Every week, we’ll offer a different art-making activity like spin art, watercolor painting, collage, puppet-making, Gelli printing, playdough & sculpture, and more messy play that young children can’t get enough of and that we know builds kindergarten readiness skills.

Chalk Wall

Who doesn’t like drawing on a giant wall? Make a mural with our colorful, dustless chalks.

Imagination Station

If kids can imagine it, they can design it, invent it, and build it! The Imagination Station provides lots of loose parts to build with from their imaginations. Suggestion cards like build a “bed for a mermaid” will challenge kids and give them a starting idea.

Build-a-Rocket Station

Children can build their own rocketships from tubes, paper cones, and lots and lots of tape, then test their designs out in our air-pressurized Rocket Launcher. Wonderful parent-child activity.

East Bay-themed Train Table

Take your train over the Golden Gate Bridge and back though the Caldecott Tunnel in the East Bay!

Wiggle Wall

An ant farm-inspired climber for kids to crawl up and through, building confidence and getting the wiggles out.

Parents’ Night Out Events

Field Trip Groups
