Get TicketsHabitot’s Space Station Experience is a STEM-embedded hands-on discovery play experience that inspires a new generation of astronauts! Kids don astronaut suits and helmets and pilot the Rocketship while budding space engineers will manage the command center at Mission Control. Challenges in space include making repairs outside the rocketship, navigating the space voyage, and fueling the ship for their chosen destinations.
“My child is obsessed with space right now so the rocketship, mission control, and rocket launcher were big hits, not to mention the astronaut costumes and helmets!”
There’s even more play and learning in our Art Studio, an Imagination Station for more maker projects, and a Sweet Stars area just for babies.
We’re grateful to CenterCal Properties for making our temporary space available and to the Institute for Museum and Library Services for funds to create the Space Station exhibit.

We’ve re-created our popular Art Studio from our Berkeley location that thousands of children enjoyed over the past twenty+ years.
Every week, we’ll offer a different art-making activity like spin art, watercolor painting, collage, puppet-making, Gelli printing, playdough & sculpture, and more messy play that young children can’t get enough of and that we know builds kindergarten readiness skills.
Who doesn’t like drawing on a giant wall? Make a mural with our colorful, dustless chalks.
If kids can imagine it, they can design it, invent it, and build it! The Imagination Station provides lots of loose parts and permission to build from their imaginations. Suggestion cards like build a “bed for a mermaid” will challenge kids and give them a starting idea.
Children can build their own rocketships from tubes, paper cones, and lots and lots of tape, then test their designs out in our air-pressurized Rocket Launcher.Wonderful parent-child activity.
Space vehicles come and go from the intersteller space station and cruise across lunar landscapes in our space-themed train table.
Children under 12 months (babies and early walkers) enjoy an enclosed space with a soft constellation carpet to crawl around on, a space-themed felt wall to practice fine motor skills on, and a colorful planet ball pit for jumping and rolling in.
