Habitotís 16th Annual Safety Campaign Kicks Off

In Alameda on May 14th with Free Car Seat Checks

(Berkeley, CA) May 10, 2016

Habitot Childrenís Museum is kicking off its 16h Annual Early Childhood Safety Campaign, sponsored by State Farm Insurance, with a free car seat inspection event on Saturday, May 14th from 10am-12pm, at City Hall Parking Lot, 1555 Oak St., in Alameda. Following Car Seat Inspection dates at the same location and times are, July 23rd and September 17th.

Trained technicians will install a new, or inspect caregiversí existing car seats, for correct placement and safety. Offered with support from retired police officer, Bob Rollins, and the City of Alameda Police Department. 90% of car seats are installed incorrectly and children are at risk. The car seat inspections are offered with the support of the Alameda Police Department, and local technicians from SafeKids California, California Highway Patrol, Alameda County Health, and other police departments and hospitals.

Coming in July will be a two-day safety fair, July 15-16, featuring experts and information booths on a wide range of safety topics relevant to families raising young children. Habitot admission will be free during the two days of the fair.
