FREE Admission Day
Habitot Children's Museum's
"SWEET SIXTEEN" Birthday Party
(Berkeley, CA) March 21, 2014
Habitot Children’s Museum will celebrate its 16th Birthday with a "Sweet Sixteen" with a Free Admission Day party (sponsored by ScholarShare) on Saturday, April 19th from 9:30am – 4:30pm.
There will be lots of family fun, with DJ Chungtech and DJ Smokestack (the parents of 16-month old DJ Umi) spinning a live family-friendly mix of funk, disco, soul, Bollywood, and more from 10am – 11am, and getting kids involved in picking the tunes they play! Families who arrive later will still be able to dance in the museum to the DJs specially curated "Sweet Sixteen" mix, enjoying great music for everybody and baskets of shakers and scarves to make the dancing even more fun for little ones.
Punch and birthday cake will be served at 12:30pm. Participants won’t want to miss the photographer taking “prom-style” photos with their kids in front of an Under the Sea backdrop. There will be a costume contest with prizes for winners in categories such as Parent-Child Sweet Sixteen, Best Throwback Prom Dress, Best Menswear, and more! Special art projects such as decorating a giant birthday cake will make the celebration complete.
Habitot’s Founder and Executive Director, Gina Moreland, is thrilled to be celebrating Habitot’s 16th year as a community institution that has become a rite of passage for the toddler set: "Kids from all over the Bay Area and all walks of life have enjoyed Habitot as a special place of their very own. I love hearing from parents that their children spoke their first words or took their first steps at Habitot." Habitot has seen more than a million visitors pass through its doors in its first 16 years, and can’t wait to greet the next generations of Bay Area tots.
Habitot’s 16th Birthday "Sweet 16" Celebration is one of three free admission days sponsored by ScholarShare, a program to help fund the college expenses of California youth.
