Winter Camps at Habitot Children's Museum

(Berkeley, CA) December 26, 2012

Itís cold, itís rainy, and families are getting a little stir-crazy. Itís the perfect time to announce Habitotís 2012 Winter Camps. Children can play and learn in the fun, cozy setting of Habitotís annex classroom for 7 days starting on December 26-28, 31 and January 2-4, 2012 from 9:00am Ė 1:00pm. Camps cost $30 per day, or $195 for all 7 days.

Children will engage in a wide variety of activities, including cooking, art, science, and music, all focused on winter themes. Though itís rare to see snow in the bay area, children will make their own real snow at Winter Camps Ė plus enjoy great activities such as Building Sugar Snow Castles, Create Ice Balloons, and much, much more! About Habitot Children's Museum

Habitot Children's Museum was founded by parents and educators in 1992 to meet the unique needs and interests of infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a safe and appropriate community setting. Habitotís mission is to help the broad community of parents and caregivers raise curious, creative and confident children. Hands-on exhibits and programs focus exclusively on early childhood.

Since opening in 1998, Habitot has welcomed over 930,000 people, filling a niche for new parents and caregivers who seek safe, appropriate and enriching experiences for young children, 0-5, as well as parenting support, connection and information for themselves.

Habitot Children’s Museum has been recognized as the “best museum for families” by Bay Area Parent Magazine readers and as a “five star destination” by the Lila Guide, along with numerous other accolades for its educational programs and community outreach. In addition, Habitot’s founder, Gina Moreland, has been honored for her years of public service in creating Habitot with a Bay Area “Jefferson Award”, as well as with a 2006 proclamation from the City of Berkeley as “Early Childhood Champion of the Year.”  In 2010, 2011 and in 2012, Habitot was designated a “Top Non-profit” by GreatNonprofits, a leading provider of reviews and ratings of nonprofit organizations.  See all awards
